On June 10, 2024, the Caldwell School District's Board of Trustees approved several major changes for the 2024-2025 school year. These changes come as a result of the failure of the $4.1M supplemental levy presented to Caldwell patrons and voters last month. Some of these changes directly affect LC. District changes include:
- The closure of Lincoln Elementary School with students and staff being redistributed among the remaining five elementary schools.
- Syringa Middle School will serve all Caldwell School District 7th and 8th grade students.
- Jefferson Middle School will serve all Caldwell School District 5th and 6th grade students.
- Reductions in staff at every school and among district office departments and programs.
- Reductions in supplemental programs and activities, including elementary school field trips.
- Reduction of School Resource Officers.
Lewis and Clark Elementary School's geographic zone will change slightly for the upcoming school year and will serve Kindergarten through 4th grade students. All 5th grade students will attend Jefferson Middle School next year. Click here to review the zone changes for '24-'25. In short, students who live at Farmway Village will attend Sacajawea Elementary School. Students who live north of Ustick between Montana and Indiana will attend Washington Elementary School. Students who live in Indian Creek Estates off Ustick who formerly attended Washington will now attend Lewis and Clark Elementary School.
While these changes may be challenging, we are excited to continue to provide our LC Explorers the very best academic experience with top-tier educators. We will miss our Explorers who will be attending other schools, but know they will also be in great hands with other tremendous educators in our district.
Keep an eye out for emails, social media posts, and other important communication as the summer progresses. Fall registration will take place on August 5, 2024. Please plan to register at your newly zoned school if these changes affect you.
