Mindfulness

Been hearing about Mindfulness?  Lewis and Clark Elementary School values the practice of teaching and modeling mindfulness for students daily.  We believe it is an essential part of helping students learn to socially and emotionally successful in the school setting.

For the past several years, counseling lessons have been focused on understanding how our brains work and how mindfulness activities can improve brain function so we can focus and learn to the best of our abilities.

The definition of mindfulness the students at Lewis and Clark have been learning is:  "Paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the moment, and nonjudgmentally".  We encourage your to help support your students at home as they develop mindful practices and behaviors!
