What is the PTO?
The PTO is the Parent-Teacher Organization for the school. It is an independent 501(c)(3) with the purpose of supporting students and staff. If you are a parent or guardian of an LC Learner, or a teacher/staff member of LC, you are automatically part of the PTO! The goal of the PTO is to support our teachers and help them and the students have a fun and successful school year. We do this by organizing fun activities to help raise funds to pay for field trips, as well as help teachers purchase school equipment and supplies that might not otherwise be in the schools budget. Parent involvement is crucial to the success of the PTO, and the best part… While some PTO members become part of the leadership team, you don’t have to be on the PTO board to be part of PTO! If you would like to help out please contact us at the email below and we'll be glad to get you connected with opportunities to participate!
How can I help?
- Popcorn Fridays! This is our school year long fundraiser! We meet one Friday per month at 8am to pop popcorn, fill candy orders, and distribute filled orders to each classroom.
- Monthly PTO meetings! The PTO meets the first Thursday of every month at 3:45pm in the school library. All Parents and guardians are welcome and are encouraged to attend these meeting. This is a great place to get to know the teachers and other parents as well as learn about upcoming PTO sponsored events and ways you can help. We also welcome ANY opinions and ideas parents might have.
- Volunteer! If you can't attend our meetings but still want to connect, reach out to us or the school principal to discuss ways you can volunteer. We can always use extra help during our fundraising activities and the school can always use regular parent volunteers to support classroom needs, recess supervision support, library organization, and a variety of other regular needs.
Messages for the PTO may also be left at the front desk of the school.
